Breakthroughs had been made in almost every field of science as a result, and a new age of knowledge seemed to be upon the world.

October 10, XXXX, in an act that could only be deemed terrorism, a fanatic young scientist detonated the research site, destroying the source of energy in an explosion that more than rivaled the force of a nuclear bomb.

Ever since that day, the sky has been blocked by a mirror-like layer, reflecting the world below. Modern computers and wireless electronics no longer work.

The world is plunged into a new Dark Age, as panic, war, and famine engulf the world.

A year after the incident, an man who called himself Enkidu took responsibility for the bombing. Forensic investigation has concluded that Enkidu and the terrorist are indeed the same person.
